May 23rd Concert at Jess Price Park with Tom Munch and the High Peaks Hounds!

Summer is fast approaching and KLZR is pleased to be hosting a “Welcome to Summer” concert at Jess Price Park this coming Saturday, May 23rd! Music from Pueblo songster, Tom Munch, will begin just as the parade passes, about 1:00 to 1:30. Tom and his guitar will offer up two sets of country, rock, folk and jazz. KLZR will be introducing the High Peaks Hounds by inviting all to bring their pups to the fest. We’ll have a few treats for your four-legged friends! Thanks to new volunteer Rosanne Mallett for coordinating and herding the hounds. We’ll see you there and we can almost guarantee that you’ll enjoy catching up with a few old friends that you’ve not seen in months.

August High Peaks Summerfest Concerts Announced

Mark your calendars for our High Peaks Summerfest concerts to be held every Sunday in August. Concerts are to be held at All Aboard Westcliffe on Main Street in the shadow of the red caboose from 12:30 – 3:00 PM. Bring chairs, hats and sunscreen. We can always use a few more hands to set up the shade tents. Food and drinks available for sale. Scheduled to appear:

· August 2, That Damn Sasquatch (Acoustic Mix)

· August 9, Big Love Car Wash (Bluegrass)

· August 16, Smythe and Taylor (Folk, Singer/Songwriter, Country, Pop)

· August 23, Hogan and Moss and the Old Weird America (Americana)

· August 30, Exit 101 (Rock and Country Covers)

Taste of the Valley Returns

Don’t miss this year’s Taste of the Valley scheduled for Sunday, August 2^nd and Cabernet Tasting August 16^th. Invitations and details to drop in June.

Volunteer Spotlight with Rosanne Mallett

Rosanne Mallett is an active and enthusiastic member of the Wet Mountain Valley community who is passionate about giving back and helping the area flourish. She currently serves as Secretary for the Custer County Board of Tourism and volunteers with Trails for All, supporting initiatives that promote outdoor recreation, accessibility, and community engagement. Rosanne is also helping organize a new KLZR-promoted event, High Peaks Hounds, which brings local dog lovers together for a fun-filled celebration of community, connection, and canine adventures. Whether she’s volunteering at local events or supporting tourism efforts, Rosanne enjoys creating opportunities that showcase the beauty and spirit of the valley.

Professionally, Rosanne works part-time as a product management consultant in the mortgage industry, where she focuses on improving digital experiences and helping companies create better tools and processes for their customers. Outside of work and volunteering, she and her husband John — who retired from UPS — enjoy spending time outdoors with their two dogs, Lacey, an 18-year-old Papillon, and Starla, a 9-year-old Beagle mix. They love camping, hiking, taking in the magnificent mountain views, and spending time with the wonderful friends they’ve made here in the valley. Rosanne is also excited about becoming more involved with KLZR through DJ’ing, radio ads, and volunteering wherever she can help.

You can hear a variety of DJs, and we are regularly adding new shows. For example, one of our newest shows, Good Company, has Stefanie Sere and Elliot Jackson breaking down local and regional news, talking one-on-one with the people leading, teaching, building, and serving our community.
